Jeri Stubblefield, MBA
Gerontologist
Certified Senior Advisor
Jeri Stubbefield, earned her MBA from California State University Fresno in 1987. A degree in Finance took her into the financial services industry spending 16 years as a real estate loan officer serving new and existing homeowners. In 2006 she became disenchanted with the industry and began to consider other career options.
In July of 2006, Ann, Jeri’s mother in law was forced to leave her home due to health issues. With little hesitation Jeri invited her into her family home and became her primary caregiver for the remainder of her life. In Ann’s final six months Jeri had the pleasure of working closely with the hospice team who came into her home regularly to offer help, advice and education about the dying process.
In June, 2007, Ann passed away in Jeri’s home. This experience changed Jeri’s life forever. Her grief and bereavement process began and she immediately became a volunteer for Hinds Hospice and began counseling family members who were having difficulty dealing with practical and financial matters related to their terminally ill loved ones.
During this time Jeri completed the accredited Certified Senior Advisor© program and began taking classed in Gerontology at Fresno State University. To round out her experience, her husband, a solo Family Practice Physician asked her to help out in his office. She revamped the office and spent the next six months developing systems to streamline processes that would offer continuity of care and make the office run more efficiently. A steady stream of patients requiring help with their aging parents offered Jeri the practical experience necessary to branch out on her own as an independent Gerontologist and Geriatric Consultant.
